Visit of representatives of laser technology sector to South Africa Republic
Delegation from Laser & Engineering Technologies Cluster (LITEK), Lithuanian laser association and Lithuanian laser companies visited Pretoria in South Africa Republic on 8th-11th of November, 2016. This visit was arranged by Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in South Africa Republic and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
The purpose of the visit was to establish new contacts with companies working in photonics sector and supporting institutions of South Africa Republic and to represent Lithuanian laser community structure, main production and working directions. During the meetings representatives from LITEK told about their project “LASER-GO” and discussed perspectives for further cooperation. Department of Science and Technology (DST), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and representatives of public and private sector were attending the meetings.
According to the head of LITEK Julius Paužolis achieved results during the mission to South Africa Republic were better than expected. The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania was very strong help to achieve these results.
Department of Science and Technology (DST) sees not only perspectives but also and the bright future for Lithuania and South Africa Republic joint projects. All visited companies are willing to cooperate with European Union and Lithuanian companies in both: technological and institutional levels.
After the mission Lithuanian companies already attracted big interest in their production and got questions about the opportunities to visit them.
