Visit of ALP Group
Prof. Dr. Ralf Hellmann with a group of students from University of Applied Sciences Aschaffenburg (UAS) have visited Laser & Engineering Technologies Cluster on 31th of August, 2016. During this visit, delegation acquainted the participants of the meeting with R&D activities of the „Applied laser and photonics group” (ALP Group) and found out more about research fields and created technologies of members of LITEK.
Representatives of LITEK and ALP Group discussed potential cooperation possibilities. According to cluster manager Mr. J.Paužolis, „I believe it was useful for both sides to share experience and ideas. Actually, some research points could be nice background for joint projects“.
ALP Group works with optical sensors and systems, including planar polymer Bragg gratings, process sensor for material processing and etc. Prof. Dr. Ralf Hellmann has already bought diode-pumped solid state lazer from UAB “Ekspla”, which is used for research of material processing. This lazer provides opportunity to process samples using different wavelengths. Also this group works with photonic technologies (laser direct writing and Lab-on-Chip, especially with microfluidics, optical sensing, surface functionalization), laser material processing (laser sources, materials) and additive manufacturing.
