RespiceSME 2nd Cluster Meeting on „Boosting the Collaboration of Photonics SMEs in Automotive”

The European project consortium of RespiceSME invites the photonics community to discuss photonics innovations and applications in the automotive sector at the Photonics Inter-Cluster Meeting on 29th June 2017, from 13.00 to 18.00 at the Laser World of Photonics trade fair in Munich.

The 2nd edition of the Inter-Cluster Meeting addresses cluster managers as well as representatives of SMEs and experts, who are interested in fostering the innovative capacity of photonics SMEs and learning more about the future of photonics in the automotive sector.

The RespiceSME consortium will open the meeting, presenting instruments and strategies for supporting the innovation potential of photonics SMEs that have been developed and put to test within the RespiceSME project. The main focus of the meeting, however, will be on photonics application in the automotive sector.

In recent years photonics gained ever more importance for the automotive sector as LiDAR and image processing play a key role in the development and take-off of new mobility applications such as autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems. The RespiceSME Inter-Cluster Meeting follows up on this trend, offering the unique opportunity to listen to representatives of photonics multi-nationals and SMEs, who will present their products in the segment of LiDAR/connected cars and share about their experiences in the automotive market. After the presentations there will be time to discuss collaboration potentials between photonics SMEs in these application fields.
