President of Lithuania presented awards for contribution to Lithuania science
For merits to the Republic of Lithuania and the Lithuanian name recognition in the world, President Dalia Grybauskaitė with medals awarded Lithuanian and foreign citizens. Among the people received awards was honoured and Gintaras Valušis – director of Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology.
For contribution to Lithuanian science also were awarded innovators: Juozas Rimantas Lazutka – professor of Vilnius University (VU) faculty of Natural Sciences of Botany and Genetics Department, Zenonas Norkus – Vice-Dean of VU faculty of Philosophy, Valentina Dagienė – professor of VU Department of Didactics of Mathematics and Informatics, Arvydas Šeškevičius – professor of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, members of Lithuanian Academy of Sciences: Daiva Rastenytė, Virginijus Šikšnys, Marijus Arvydas Šliogeris.
Different awards were presented for a total of nearly thirty people.
