LITEK™ members at the world-wide “SPIE Photonics West 2018” exhibition

One of the biggest photonics events this year “SPIE Photonics West 2018” took place at the end of  January and  beginning of February, 2018. As the largest Photonics and Laser Conference in North America, “Photonics West” brings together more than 1300 exhibited companies and 23000 international exhibitors from the United States and the international community. Therefore, this famous event provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen international relations. The event has traditionally taken place in San Francisco, California, and has brought together three world-class conferences (BIOS, LASE and OPTO) and two exhibitions. The conferences were focused on bio-medical applications, laser industry, materials and devices used in photonics. Participating companies had the opportunity to present their products and services at a small target exhibition near the BIOS conference, as well as a large general three-day exhibition for all conference participants. This exhibition provided an opportunity not only to introduce new products, but also to see some of the most promising innovations in the areas mentioned above.

“SPIE Photonics West 2018” was attended by two LITEK™ companies: JSC “Ekspla”, JSC “Optolita”. JSC “Ekspla” has introduced Femtolux 3 and PhotoSonus products at the BIOS -largest biophotonics, biomedical optics and imaging conference exhibitions. The PhotoSonus, a specialized laser source for photoconductivity, has received a huge interest in this stand. Such systems  like the ultrasound echoscope are capable of restoring the structure of biological tissues by detecting acoustic waves. Only in this case, a laser is used to excite such waves. The exposition visitors were interested in both the application and the laser sources that are suitable for him. So the participants of the exhibition were most interested in the final solution – a complete photoconductive visualization system with a laser and an ultrasound registration and processing system. JSC “Ekspla” exhibited considerably more products for the wider range of applications at the “SPIE Photonics West 2018” exhibition. Visitors were interested in the novelties brought by the nodes: the synchronization module and the laser diode power supply. JSC “Ekspla” optical fiber and laser wavelength models were also of great interest. Representatives of JSC “Ekspla”, who participated in the exhibition, noticed that this year’s “SPIE Photonics West 2018” was, like never before, abundant participants and visitors.

JSC “Optolita”, participating in the “Photonics West” exhibition for more than twenty years, in a joint stand of four Lithuanian companies JSC “Ekspla”, JSC “SPC Light Conversion” and JSC “Standa”, introduced new opportunities for laser optics with ion-fiber sputtering technology for ultra high performance lasers this year. Also exhibited their traditional products – electro-optical modulators, laser pulse picking systems, non-linear and laser crystals. According to Daugirdas Kuzma, marketing and business development director of JSC “Optolita”, “Phononics West” is particularly useful for raising awareness of the company in the photonics and laser market, meet key customers in the United States market, and establish new contacts with companies which are looking for reliable optical laser component suppliers.
