The future Government highlights the importance of clusters for the recovery of economics

On the 20th of November 2012 Lithuanian President nominated A. Butkevičius for the position of Prime Minister to be considered in the parliament. Candidate for Prime Minister noted in his speech, that Government will have an important task to analyze and inventory projects, evaluating their perspectives in terms of continuity. “I can promise, that we will not evaluate following primitive schemes, for example “What is not started by us, is wrong”. We will evaluate objectively following the criteria of professionalism, competence, knowledge” – A. Butkevičius spoke.

It is interesting, that in this speech, future Prime Minister names promotion of industry and creation of clusters or innovation groups as a priority for the recovery and management of economics. According to him, nowadays statistic data is showing the slowdown of economic development. Manufacturing is the main force for economic development. In order to achieve higher economic independence and stability, industry will be promoted by the means of tax policy, creation of clusters and innovation groups will be a priority of national economic management.

Also A. Butkevičius mentioned a necessity to promote modern and effective technologies, to have clear quantitative and qualitative indicators to evaluate achieved goals, as well as to promote small and medium business, in order to facilitate the establishment of new companies, revising the income tax rates and conditions for small and medium business, anticipating their gradual adaptation in a clearly defined perspective.
