LITILIT nominated for “Oskar” of lasers

Laser and Engineering Technologies Cluster (LITEK™) company LITILIT has become one of the nominees for the award in the category of industrial lasers in the competition “Prism Awards 2022” (USA) announced by the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). This award is presented annually to laser, photonics or optics companies for their most innovative products of the year.

“To fight for the award with the old ones in the market from Germany and Israel is an important assessment for us, showing that the technology we are developing is exceptional. We were among the nominees with our ultra-short pulse generator laser “Neolit” – this type of laser does not use semiconductor materials such as gallium or arsenic. As a result, the product has a longer service life and is more sustainable, which is one of the main criteria for evaluating tenderers. Being a finalist in the “Prism Awards 2022” is a global appreciation of our technology. This assessment is especially important for us when planning the further stages of the company’s investments, ”-says Nikolajus Gavrilinas, the head of the company LITILIT.

Another Lithuanian company, a manufacturer of software for the control of laser machines, UAB “Direct machining control”, also became the finalists in the nominations of software category in the competition “Prism Awards 2022” .

Looking at the history of this prestigious photonics competition, LITEK™ member UAB “EKSPLA” in 2011 has received an honorable award in the category of the world’s most advanced products in scientific lasers for developed NT200 laser system. This is so far the first and only Prism Awards in the Lithuanian laser community.

The “Prism Awards” is an annual international competition that rewards companies that create products that have a positive impact on the environment, solve problems and improve life through photonics. The competition is equated to the Oscars of the film industry. This year, the organizers of the “Prism Awards 2022” announced nominees for the award in ten categories: augmented & virtual reality, autonomous transport, software, lasers for industry and science, biomedical photonics, and more.
