The visit of the United Arab Emirates delegation to LITEK™

         The business delegation from United Arab Emirates (UAE) visited the Laser & Engineering technologies cluster (LITEK™) on May 10th. After the visit to Estonia and Latvia, the delegation arrived on a business mission to Lithuania. The main objective of this visit was to get acquainted with the activities and achievements of Lithuanian industrial sectors, that would be useful for further cooperation, as well as to  make useful contacts.The delegation from the UAE visited laboratories LITEK™ cluster members JSC “EKSPLA” and JSC “3D prototipai”. Later the director of Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) prof. habil. dr. Gintaras Valušis with the guests met and presented FTMC model of activity, cooperation in the international space, implementation of international projects in the field of R&D, the successful experience of FTMC innovation starters in the field of business creation in  photonics sector, emphasizing the importance of optoelectronics and laser technologies in the development of innovative products. The activities of LITEK™ companies were presented to the delegation. Attending the meeting Mr. Giedrius Valuckas, the head of investment committee of the Lithuanian engineering industry association (LINPRA), the member of the board of the Lithuanian Association of Free Economic Zones (LAFEZ), introduced the delegation with the main mission of LINPRA – to promote exports of goods and services, to increase the competitiveness of companies in the industrial sector, internationalization, also to increase the synergie between scientists and engineers, with the achievements of the Lithuanian engineering sector, the directions of export of the country’s industry, emphasizing the attractiveness of investment in Lithuania, as a strategically convenient center of production, in respect of place and costs, and a gateway to the European market.
