The visit of Chinese Ambassador to LITEK™

The Chinese Ambassador in Lithuania Mr. Shen Zhifei and accompanying staff of the Chinese Embassy: Commercial Advisor Mr. Lin Chen, Second Secretary Ms. Zhenyu Shao, Attache Mr. Yichang Fano visited the Laser and engineering technology cluster (LITEK™) on April 9th. Delegation was accepted by director of Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) prof. habil dr. Gintaras Valušis, the head of  FTMC Laser technology division dr. Gediminas Račiukaitis, executive director of the Lithuanian laser association dr. Petras Balkevičius, JSC „Ekspla“ general director Kęstutis Jasiūnas, director of JSC “Optonas” Gintas Jakubėnas, director of “Integrated Fiber Optics” Nikolajus Gavrilinas, Daugirdas Kuzma – JSC “Optolita” sales director and others. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Department of External Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Mrs. Dalia Kreivienė. This visit was organized in order to develop links between the Chinese laser industry in both scientific and business fields. The director of FTMC prof. habil dr. Gintaras Valušis presented the organizational structure and activity model of FTMC to the guests, highlighted the contribution of science to the development of world-class optoelectronics components, lasers and laser systems, the  experience of FTMC in implementing international projects, including APPOLO, as well as developing the activity of the open access center BALTFAB, which provides companies to use specific non-conventional lithography services.

The delegation was introduced to the trends of the growth of the Lithuanian laser sector, export trends, product groups and companies with many years of experience working in the Chinese laser market. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mrs. D.Kreivienė encouraged the Chinese laser manufacturers’ society to come to Lithuania and cooperate with the largest Lithuanian laser manufacturers, while Ambassador Mr. Shen Zhifei offered Embassy assistance in developing economic ties in the Chinese market. The delegation also visited laboratories that develop unique laser systems.
