The conference “Lasers. Science and Technology 2024”
A thriving ecosystem nurtures its members. Its resilience lies in its ability to adapt and grow. Today, the Lithuanian laser ecosystem consists of more than 60 companies and scientific institutions, which work side by side to develop top-level technologies that are exported all over the world.
Ecosystem participants and guests shared insights about the scientific achievements and applications of lasers and other industrial digitization enabling photonics technologies on August 23-24 at the national conference “Lasers. Science and Technology 2024”.
Community member rewards:
- Innovation of the year 2024: the member of LITEK™ UAB EKSPLA laser system for 3D photoacoustic and ultrasound mammoscope was recognized as an innovative product that contributed to the development of knowledge in the field of lasers and photonics and the presentation of new solutions to the market.
- Breakthrough of the year 2024: UAB AKTYVUS PHOTONICS, awarded for a breakthrough in the dual-purpose defense technology and military sectors.
- Light of the year 2024: Andrejus Michailovas, head of science at UAB EKSPLA, was honored for his significant contribution to the Lithuanian laser and photonics sector.
The laser community appreciates the crucial role of teachers in educating new generations of physicists. During the event, the teachers of Vilnius Žirmūnai gymnasium, Zigmo Žemaičio gymnasium of Švenčioniai and Šviesiosios gymnasium of Kėdainiai were honored with prizes and received great support from the audience for their work in promoting and training future talents.
Photonics companies continue to expand the boundaries of innovation and grow Lithuania as a world leader in laser and photonics technologies.
