Breakthrough of LITEK™ companies in the creation of unique products and development of export markets
From unique femtosecond laser systems to the highest quality optical coatings – each product embodies the latest scientific achievements and technological progress. LITEK™ companies, taking advantage of the funding opportunities of the European Union, constantly invest in research and development in order to ensure that they remain at the forefront of innovation. The four companies of the cluster attracted 3.05 million euros EU support for new product and export development in 2024.
Unique products are a guarantee of competitiveness
Laser technologies cluster LITEK™ companies UAB LITILIT and UAB Optonas continue their creative journey of presenting unique products to the market. Working in a dynamic market is a real challenge, which is why companies live in a constant process of product improvement and product range renewal.
UAB LITILIT is distinguished from other laser technology companies by the variety of innovative technologies it develops. The basis of innovation is advanced femtosecond laser technology, which, after being thoroughly tested, has repeatedly proven its flexibility and reliability in various industries. The company’s products are applied in different sectors: industry, medicine, scientific institutions, and also promote the technological progress of these sectors. At the beginning of this year, UAB LITILIT, taking advantage of EU funding, started implementing an R&D development project aimed at creating a universal integrated multiphoton microscope (MULTISCOPAS), which with its unique properties will significantly improve the current products on the market and increase their attractiveness to the public. UAB Optonas products are high-quality optical coatings: metallic and dielectric and variable reflectivity. They are produced using electron beam evaporation, magnetron ion deposition and thermal evaporation technologies. Currently, the company, in cooperation with UAB “Nanoversa”, is actively implementing the project “Development of innovative products”, partially financed by EU funds. As part of this initiative, the partners aim to develop metasurfaces with unique technical parameters for laser optics. “We see metasurfaces as a breakthrough technology that will allow us to achieve extremely good optical characteristics in elements in the future. By implementing this project, we plan to develop methods of forming meta-structures for the production of such surfaces, which will greatly increase the company’s competitiveness. We believe that this will help to expand the range of customers in the local and international markets. After the implementation of the project, these solutions will make it possible to significantly reduce and simplify optical systems, which is very relevant today in the space and security industries, where every gram of material is important”, – says company director Evaldas Paliliūnas. Development of export markets
LITEK™ companies UAB EKSPLA and UAB ESEMDA, taking advantage of the EU funding opportunities, aim to consolidate the products they develop with high added value and increase their awareness in international markets.
UAB EKSPLA started implementing the project “EKSPLA Inside” in January 2024, the purpose of which is to help enter new markets of original equipment manufacturers for ultrafast industrial and tunable wavelength lasers developed by the company, as well as lasers for photoacoustic imaging. UAB EKSPLA expects growing exports in the future. More information on UAB EKSPLA website.
UAB ESEMDA is implementing an export market development project, the activities of which are aimed at promoting the export of high value-added products, finding new export markets and developing existing markets, and increasing the company’s competitiveness. During the project, it is planned to participate in international exhibitions held abroad, where the company, its products and services will be presented, foreign partners and potential customers are actively sought.
