The review of „Photonics Europe“ exhibition, 15-16 April, 2014, Brussels, Belgium

„Photonics Europe“ exhibition organized by SPIE was held on 15-16th of April, 2014 in conjunction with the conference. The exhibition was held in Brussels for the third time and is organized every two years since 2010.

Photonics, Optics, Lasers, Micro- and Nanotechnologies conference is one of the biggest scientific conference in Europe and was organized by International Society for Optics and Photonics. The main themes of the conference included:

  • Micro and Nano technologies
  • Organic Photonics
  • Bio- ir Nano- Photonics
  • Nonlinear optics and applications
  • Laser sources and applications
  • Photonics in industrial applications
  • Quantum Optics

In conjuction with the conference, the exhibition for Optics and Photonics was held where LITEK cluster took part. The production of lasers, optical laser components, opto-electronic and elctro-optical kits were showcased. More than 100 catalogues of „Laser Components“ and brochures with USB e-catalogues were distributed during the tradeshow by EKSMA OPTICS, EKSPLA and me while visiting the booths of manufacturers.
The exhibition lasted for two days and due to short term of exhibition work in the booth was very intensive, because of large number of conference participants that visited tradeshow in two days. There was more than 1500 participants of the conference.

During the tradeshow I got acquainted with the members of Southern European Cluster in Photonics and Optics (SECPhO). We have represented the each cluster and discussed the cooperation possibilities between the clusters and member companies. Also, we have agreed to sign the cooperation contract between the LITEK and SECPhO clusters.
